Groom dumped for being bad in maths

Kanpur: A bride walked out of her ongoing wedding ceremonies after the bridegroom failed to solve a simple maths problem.

"The woman's relatives put the groom to the test after getting concerned about his education level," said Police in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh where the wedding had been organised.

On the wedding day on Wednesday, the bride-to-be stromed out of the wedding despite several requests from the groom's family.

"As soon as she learned that the man was uneducated, she refused to marry him," local police official Iddu Hasan told a news agency.

The matter got worst and police were called to intervene in the row, but eventually both families resolved it with mutual talks and returning all the jewellery, gifts and cash which were traditionally exchanged during the Indian wedding.
