Kanpur: Within just 24 hours "rapist" left Uttar Pradesh ashamed with their unmanly act where a minor girl, inter-mediate student, was allegedly attacked and raped in Rasoolabad area of Kanpur Dehat district on Wednesday.

The shocking incident, which took place in a village under Rasoolabad police station, came to light after the victim's parents lodged an FIR against the accused on Thursday.

According to reports, the girl, 16-year-old, was returning home from college after taking her practical examination on Wednesday afternoon. The accused, identified as Sanju Yadav of the same village, intercepted her on the way and forcibly dragged her to nearby fields and after brutally assaulting her. The accused fled after threatening the victim.

The girl has been sent to the district hospital for medical examination. Police sources informed that the father of the victim lodged a complaint alleging that one Sanju Yadav had raped her, besides inflicting serious injuries on her vital body parts.

According to a report in a news paper, hospital sources said that the girl was punched on her face and stomach.
The accused has been arrested and a case under various sections including 376 and 506 of the IPC and POCSO act was lodged against him with the Rasoolabad police station, additional superintendent of police said.
