Kanpur: At least 5 people have lost their lives and 40 other still stranded after an under construction building in Kanpur’s Jajmau collapsed on Wednesday.

According to reports, rescue and relief operations are being carried out by Army,National Disaster Response Force,Police and Fire brigade personnel. 

More than 12 people have been rescued so far. However, many other people are still feared trapped

Meanwhile, the concerned authorities are keeping close eye to the matter Ambulance and medical aid is being provided to the injured.

Earlier in November last year, at least 3 people were killed and 12 left severely injured in a building collapse in Maharsahstra Nagar (Mankhurd), Mumbai.

The one-storey house it is said collapsed due to a fire that resulted from a cylinder blast.
