Uttar Pradesh CM distributes free e-rickshaws to rickshaw pullers

Making an effort to improve the social condition of the rickshaw pullers in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav distributed free e-rickshaws to them.

Akhilesh Yadav while addressing people said that his government wanted overall development of the state, therefore the distribution of free e-rickshaws was yet another effort towards fulfilling this aim.

The CM gave away 100 battery operated e-rickshaws to pullers who owned tricycle rickshaws. The beneficiaries were chosen from 10 districts, including Lucknow, Kannauj, Rampur, Etawah and Azamgarh.

The scheme was launched by Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav. The first phase of the scheme will include distribution of 27,000 e-rickshaws.
