Amar Singh soon to join Samajwadi Party officially: Minister Shivpal Yadav

Lucknow: Putting an end to the speculations, the Samajwadi Party has officially hinted that former Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh, who had resigned from the party in 2010, will soon be re-inducted in the party
The hint on Amar Singh joining the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh came from senior Minister Shivpal Yadav who said, “It will be announced by Amar Singh himself in a press conference”.
Insiders claimed that ground has already been cleared for Amar returning to SP and he may be sent to Rajya Sabha in 2016.

Amar, who is in political wilderness, had continued to meet the Yadav family terming them as his “parivar”. His political ventures, after resigning from the SP, including forming his own outfit Rashtriya Lok Manch in 2012 UP Assembly elections and contesting as Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, failed. He even tried to revive his connections with the Congress and also met BJP leader Om Mathur but nothing materialised. In the meantime, his Rajya Sabha tenure was also over.

While SP, under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav, never felt the need to get him back in the party, party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav stated in public functions that only Amar Singh used to understand his opinions and way of functioning.

Last year in August, Amar Singh had shared stage with Mulayam during the inauguration of Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow. It was the first time the duo had shared stage at a public function in four years after Amar Singh said good-bye to the party. Later the same month both Amar Singh and and SP national general secretary Ramgopal Yadav had ruled out the possibility of his return to partyfold. “There is no possibility of taking Amar Singh back in party,” Ramgopal had said.

Before Akhilesh left for Germany, Amar met him with a British delegation. Now, it appears only a matter of time before Amar Singh is back in the party.
