Bareilly: Attacking leaders of Hindutva organisations for suggesting that Hindu women should give birth to at least four children, senior UP minister Shivpal Singh Yadav today suggested that they must first follow what they preach.

"Some leaders of Hindutva organisations are asking Hindu women to give birth to four children...First they should themselves do the same", Yadav said.

On Thursday Shivpal Yadav reached Bareilly to attend a private event. When journalists sought Shivpal to comment on recent disputing statements of having more than four children, he said that it was so easy to say anything but he questioned whether those preachers would themselves give birth to four children. In this process he also took a dig at sadhvi and asked if she would also have children.

Defending the state government, the PWD and Irrigation minister said that law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is better than other states.

"As far as crime is concerned, when compared to some other states it is far lesser", he said.

The minister, who inaugurated a BSA office building here, said that probe would be ordered into alleged irregularities in the development works of historical Lilaur pond and cleaning of Rohilkhand canal.
