Lucknow: After Supreme Court ordered FIR against Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati in a sexual assault case. Cops finally seen in some action today as one of the police team reaches Minister Lucknow residence and also said its part of investigation&will arrest him as soon as we are able to trace him".

Police reaches Gayatri Prajapati's residence in Lucknow. Earlier SC ordered registration of FIR against him in a rape case

After not finding Gayatri Prajapati at his residence, two separate Police teams left for Amethi for further investigation.

Prajapati, who currently serves as the Transport minister in the state, is a contender for the Amethi seat where Congress has also staked its claim.

Earlier, the apex court bench also directed the Uttar Pradesh police to file a status report in the case within a period of eight weeks.

The court’s order came on a plea by a 35-year-old woman who alleged that an FIR was not being registered on her complaint. She has alleged that she was gang raped by Prajapati and that her daughter too was assaulted sexually.
