PUCL accused Rajasthan government of illegal mining

Rajasthan government accused of sheltering mining mafia by People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL).

The PUCL alleged that 342 units of mining and stone crushing were illegally operating and flourishing in Neemkathan in Sikar district.

"The stone crushing machines are causing severe health hazards and threat to lives of a number of persons who have protested against them", PUCL General Secretary Kavita Srivastava told a press conference here.

She pronounced people dependent with PUCL were holding protests and agitations opposite a mining mafia in Toda, Dokan, Meena Ki Nangal, Bharla, Dabla and other villages nearby Neemkathana city in Sikar district for many years.

PUCL will hold a five-day camp in the villages and public protests would be held if its demand was not fulfilled.
