Rajasthan govt interested to replicate 'Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan'

The government of Rajasthan has planned to replicate Maharahtra's 'Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan'. This scheme aims at water conservation in drought-prone districts.

Officials have been asked by the chief minister, Vasundhara Raje, to study the scheme and plan out its implementation in the state.

The project is currently underway in the state which aims to make 25,000 villages immune to the effects of drought in the next five years. Maharashtra government sent a team of officials to visit Rajasthan last week to prepare a presentation on the project.

'Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan' is Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis' flagship programme focusing on the water conservation.
