  Five inmates booked for using cell phones in Muzzaffarnagar jail

A case has been registered against five inmates for uploading a selfie taken by a mobile phone in district jail here, police said.

An FIR was lodged with the police by Jailor Satish Tripathi after an inquiry probing the incident found the inmates violating the rules, Jail Superintendent Rakesh Singh said.

The incident came to light after the selfie of five inmates went viral on social media.

Earlier, there was a news which reported five inmates of the district jail were got injured in a clash that broke out between two gangs in the jail.

According to the jail official , the incident occurred when two gangsters, Mukim and Asif Zada, got into a heated arguments following which supporters of each gangs turned violent and started hitting the rival group.

The injured persons have been taken for treatment inside the jail premises.
