In an unfortunate accident on Monday, early morning on Yamuna Expressway, atleast 29 passengers were killed leaving 22 plus people injured as the Jan Rath bus fell into the drain. The passengers report that the bus was over speeding when in suddenly broke the road divider and fell into the drain. The relief and rescue operations are on full swing. The casualities of the demised have started while the injured have been rushed to the hospital and are being taken care of. State's CM Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex-cratia of 5lakhs for the families of the deceased.

The cause of the accident still remains to be the centre of investigation. The reports claim that the bus driver, Kripa Shankar Chaudhary aged 45 years had fell asleep on the steering wheel leading to the major accident. Assistant regional manager, Lucknow UPSRTC, Ambrin Akhtar in his statement said that "He bus driver, Chaudhary has zero accident records. We don't know the cause of the accident yet." The police investigation teams have started working upon to discover the cause of the accident.
